Video captures FUMC's risk taking mission and service
- - Church volunteers participating in community service projects are featured
in a seven-minute video which was shown
Sunday,
Nov. 8, as part of the final sermon in the "Church is a Verb" series. The
Communications Team project incorporated the work of videographers Steve Veglia,
Jon Norenberg and Mark Looker as they interviewed volunteers working at three
service projects on Oct. 24: Habitat for Humanity remodeling project in the
Airport District, the Graffiti Wipeout sponsored by Advancing Vibrant
Communities and a church work and clean-up day. Church members describe their
motivation for taking part in risk taking mission and service and talk about how
church is a verb. The video is posted to the church's online video channel at
http://fumc.telefeed.com/ "We
encourage church members to view this video on-line and then share it by email
with their friends, families and others so they can spread the word about how
Modesto FUMC lives church as a verb," said Communications Team Chair Mark
Looker. "Video is a great communications tool for showing our church members in
action. As we continue to reach out to our targeted demographic group of 20 to
40 year olds, we hope to increase use of video to put a face on our church."
