Flight suggestions for Western United Dairymen members

Jan. 27, 2012- - WUD has received questions regarding travel coordination from Northern California for the WUD annual convention. The Pechanga Resort recommends flying to either the San Diego or Ontario airport. Each is about 50 miles from the hotel. If flying either Tuesday or Wednesday, Southwest Airlines is offering web-only specials from Sacramento Airport to Ontario as low as $59 one-way, with a return cost as low as $81 for a round-trip cost of $140 plus tax. Flights out of San Francisco are generally around $410 plus tax for a roundtrip fare. Visit www.Southwest.com  for more information.
Ground transportation options from the airport include taxis, but a shuttle van is the most economical way to get to and from the airport. The cost is around $95 each way from Ontario, and $125 each way from San Diego. The price should be the same for 1 to 3 people. However, since vans can accommodate up to 7 people, if you know of others whose flights are arriving at the same time, it may be possible to get a better per-person price as a group. Advance shuttle reservations are definitely recommended. Some shuttle options are listed below.
* Ontario Airport Taxi Cab/Door-to-Door Van Services: Visit http://www.lawa.org/ONTTaxiVanServices.aspx
* Super Shuttle: Visit https://www.supershuttle.com/ . Just click on “Book a Ride” to get started.
* San Diego Airport Ground Transportation: Visit http://www.san.org/sdia/transportation/default.aspx.  There are several Temecula shuttle options, but they vary greatly in price—some as much as $175.
Where possible, please coordinate with other dairy producers in your area, or contact your field representative concerning your flight arrival time. If we learn of a large group arriving at or around the same time, we may be able to have one of our staff arrange transport between the airport and Pechanga. So keep your field representative informed of your arrival time, so we can coordinate.
