CDQAP air quality classes offered in Modesto, Tulare
Aug. 3, 2012 - - The California Dairy Quality Assurance Program (CDQAP) is
offering free classes in air quality In Modesto on Aug. 21 and Tulare on Aug.
23. This will be the only two-hour class offered in air quality by the CDQAP
prior to the Sept. 30 deadline for certification. The class will provide
important updates on implementing Revised Rule 4570 requirements, what to expect
during inspections and regulatory compliance tips.
These classes offer “one-stop shopping” with a comprehensive overview of
air-quality related environmental regulatory requirements for California dairy
producers. The classes provide a straightforward, clear, up-to-date approach to
the sometimes confusing world of air quality regulations. Producers completing
the classes will better understand the regulatory requirements and how to
comply, reducing their risk of facing unnecessary enforcement actions, fines and
other penalties. Completion of an air quality class is also a necessary step for
producers desiring to achieve CDQAP Environmental Certification.
To be CDQAP certified, a producer must:
• Attend environmental stewardship education classes (2 hours of air quality if
the dairy is located in air district with regulations for dairies and 6 hours of
water quality);
• Create and implement on-farm management plans consistent with regulatory
requirements for the local area; and
• Successfully complete an on-site evaluation of the dairy to assure compliance
with all environmental regulations.
