Welcome to the New Year

CVPRO Risk Communications Presentation and Lunch Set for Feb. 29

By Lindsey Lundquist, President
Central Valley Public Relations Organization

It is with great pleasure that I welcome the New Year as your new CVPRO President. As the New Year begins, it is a great time to look to the future and reflect on what one would like to see happen in the coming year. I have spent some time reflecting on our mission. CVPRO is to provide career enhancement and advocacy for public relations, communications and marketing professionals in the Central Valley. I am committed this year to furthering this mission and to bringing the most relevant and up-to-date information to the members and to offer valuable networking opportunities.

So you can get to know me a little more, I currently work at Emanuel Medical Center as the Corporate Communication and Marketing Coordinator. I graduated from California State University, Stanislaus in 2008 with a bachelor’s degree in Communication Studies. Upon graduating, I accepted a position as the Social Media Specialist at the Stanislaus County Fair. With passion and hard work, I developed and launched a social media program for the fair. I was then recruited to Emanuel Medical Center to develop and launch its social media program, as well as market the organization’s key service lines. I hope that through the year, I will get to know all of you a little more too.

I would also like to introduce my leadership team members: Mark Looker, webmaster; Adrenna Alkhas, treasurer; Michelle Reimers, membership; Christine Ramsey, publicity; Melissa Williams, programming; Herb Smart, social media. Without these impressive leaders, CVPRO would not be as great as it is.  I would also like to thank Melissa Williams and Courtney Considine for doing such an amazing job as the previous Co-Chairs and their dedication to this organization.
