Welcome to the Web site of the Almond Industry Pest Management Alliance. This dynamic group of almond industry organizations is dedicated to carrying out a work plan to promote a reduced-risk system of almond production through alternative practices. This effort was funded for five years, 1998-2003, in part by a grant from the California Department of Pesticide Regulation. The project is now funded entirely by the Almond Board of California.
The accomplishments of this project have been detailed in a publication
titled, The Seasonal Guide to Environmentally Responsible Pest Management
Practices
in Almonds. This guide summarizes practices demonstrated in a five-year
project funded with $476,000 in Pest Management Alliance grants from the
California Department of Pesticide Regulation (CDPR). The Almond Pest
Management Alliance, which coordinated the demonstrations, is a public/private
partnership of University of California Cooperative Extension (UCCE) farm
advisors and area Integrated Pest Management (UC Statewide IPM Program)
advisors, the Almond Board of California, the Almond Hullers and Processors
Association and CDPR. Click here to
