Re: Contract #99-0250
Dear Tom:
In accordance with the terms outlined
in the grant awarded in June 2000 to the Almond Pest Management Alliance (PMA),
I am enclosing the third quarterly status report on the Alliance’s activities
for the period of Feb. 1, 2001
through April 30, 2001.
Under separate cover, I have submitted
an invoice in the amount of $13,736.02 for reimbursable expenses incurred by the
Almond PMA during this time period.
The Almond PMA Advisory Team met March
7, 2001 at the DoubleTree Hotel in Modesto. I have attached minutes of that
meeting. The main action items were to review the three county project's
activities to date, to plan for the Spring field days and to discuss how to
improve the project’s outreach efforts. Field days were held May 1 in Kern
County and May 10 in Stanislaus County. The Butte County field day is set for
June 10. A full report on those field days will be provided in the next
quarterly status report.
Status reports have been filed by the
Stanislaus and Kern county projects. I have enclosed copies of those reports.
Additionally, those reports are filed on the almond PMA web site.
The almond PMA newsletter is being
published this Spring and will be distributed to almond growers, PCA’s and
other interested parties. Additionally, the newsletter will be posted to the PMA
website.
Our next PMA Advisory Team meeting is
planned for Thursday, Sept. 6 at the UC Davis DANR building at 10 a.m. I hope
you will be able to join us as we make plans for our Fall field days and discuss
the Year Three results to date with an eye to preparing the Final report for
Year Three due Dec. 31, 2001.
Please let me know if I can provide you
with any further information.
Sincerely,
Mark Looker, Project Administrator
Almond Pest Management Alliance
