Dear Larry:

In accordance with the terms outlined in the grant awarded in June 2001 to the Almond Pest Management Alliance (PMA), I am enclosing the first quarterly status report on the Alliance’s activities for the period of Aug. 1, 2001 through Oct. 31, 2001.

Under separate cover, I have submitted to DPR an invoice in the amount of $8,276.83 for reimbursable expenses incurred by the Almond PMA during this time period.

During the time period of Aug. 1 through Oct. 31, 2001, the project’s main activities involved conducting harvest crackouts, holding an Advisory Team meeting Sept. 6, 2001 at UC Davis, planning for three field days to be held in Kern County, Butte County and Stanislaus County, preparing year-end reports for all three regional projects and preparing to submit a proposal to DPR for a fifth year of funding by the Nov. 1, 2001 deadline.

The attached minutes from the Sept. 6, 2001, advisory team meeting provides additional details on the project’s activities. In addition, I have attached copies of the status reports from Kern and Stanislaus County. The Butte County year-end report and the overall project year-end report will be submitted to me soon and I will send them on to DPR, as well as post them to the project website.

A PMA project newsletter is scheduled to be published in the month of January. Additionally, the next PMA Advisory Team meeting will be held in the near future and we will advise you as soon as a date is set.
